  • "Tullamore is centrally situated in the heart of Ireland’s Midlands. It is County Offaly’s primary town and centre of local government.

    The population of Tullamore as per 2006 Census was 14,607 and it has an estimated catchment population of c. 30,000 .
    Tullamore is ideally located and easily accessed from via road and rail routes from across the country.   Road network connection include the M6 (Dublin- Galway) national primary route, the N52 (Dundalk-Nenagh) national secondary route which provide links to Birr in the west of the County and Athlone (Westmeath) via the N6. In addition, Tullamore is also located on the N80 which links to Portlaoise (Laois) and further south. 
    Tullamore train station offers access to services that operate to/from Dublin and to/from stations of Galway/Westport/Castlebar.

    Tullamore is part of the Midlands Gateway with Athlone and Mullingar (ATM) which was designated by government in National Spacial Strategy as a focus for economic development in the Midlands. This linked gateway has an urban population of circa 51,000 with some 450,000 residing within a 60km radius.

    Tullamore is a major sporting town with athletics, football, hurling, rugby, soccer, tennis, rowing and swimming clubs. Other activities catered for include fishing, boating, mountaineering, horse trekking and hunting. Indoor activities include gyms, sports complex, drama/musical society, badminton and squash. The town has a choice of quality hotels with conference facilities, excellent restaurants/pubs and golf courses.

    Natural landmarks and recreation spots nearby include Sliabh Bloom Mountains, Lough Boora, The Grand Canal, Charleville Castle and Demesne.

    Tullamore has a number of Primary and Secondary Schools and Creche/Montessori facilities. It is also home to the new state of the art, 300 bed Midland Regional Hospital and is the Administrative Headquarters of the Midlands Health Services Executive.
